This quote has led me down a path of becoming aware of my own needs. Needs that I never knew that I had. Needs that are taught to me by the societal beliefs of this country. Racial needs, religious needs, sexist needs, ethical needs and needs that justify fears. Some of these needs are very simple and some are quite profound, but no matter what the need is, it stands between me and freedom. That is right, I can not be free as long as I have needs.
